When you need a manual entry

Adjustments, transfers between accounts, or anything not created from an invoice or expense.

Add debit and credit lines that balance, set date and description, then post. Drafts stay out of final reports.

Simplified patterns (e.g. expense from cash) without building every line from scratch.

After posting, balances update and appear on statements, trial balance, and VAT summary if a VAT account is used.

Tip: Draft journals do not appear in the VAT summary — status must be Posted.
